    Accreditations

    We are seeking accreditation by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED). Meeting the requirements of the IED will mean this degree will fully meet the academic standards of Chartered Engineer (CEng), which enables you to apply for CEng status after gaining suitable experience in an engineering role.

    What you will learn

    To get a broad understanding of robotics, design, electronics, mechatronics and networking solutions, you will explore all aspects of engineering

    Most of your learning will be project-led in specialist labs and workshops in the Ritterman Building. It is equipped with industry-leading equipment where you can develop your practical skills in areas that interest you.

    Using the latest hardware and software, including LabVIEW, MATLAB, SolidWorks, NX and STEP-7, you will also learn to develop systems that control physical motion – such as the ones you’ll find in robotic applications and industrial automation.

    The course provides a range of practical skills and knowledge required for mechatronics and robotics engineering, including how to engineer systems and develop sensory processing for autonomous robotics.

    You will extend your learning, skills and experience by:

    • Entering prestigious design engineering competitions to enhance your experience and career prospects
    • A series of weekly guest lectures delivered by some of the UK’s leading design experts and companies
    • An optional year-long work placement allowing you to solve and reflect up real-world problems and gain industry experience.
